SeungHo Yoo

Seungho Yoo substitutes contour lines and brushworks to Korean onomatopoeic words. His works of art contain wit in a sense that images of grand nature are recreated by diminutive collections of Korean script, Hangul. Maintaining Oriental artistic traditions in terms of natural forms and surface decoration, Yoo creates a distinctive style in his works. Introducing words that convey sound, such as Yodeleheeyoo! and Shooo-, he not only provides the visual experience but also the auditory experience through these works of art. By using his own handwriting for the silhouette of monumental nature in his works, Yoo shows a mastery of drawing techniques and a new emphasis on the depiction of verbal expressions. Biography
