Recent solo exhibitions include Stations – Troubled Waters, Hermitage Museum, Amsterdam (2019), Stations, Trinity Wall Street, New York (2018); white cube / white wall, Maestro Arts, London (2016-2017); Transformations, Galerie du Monde, Hong Kong (2016), Stations, Barbican Centre, London (2016); white cube / white wall, Embassy of Germany, London (2014); snow+concrete, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Hong Kong (2013); Ophelia, Goethe-Institut, Paris (2011); metamorphosis, Embassy of Germany, London (2010-2011) and snow+concrete, Dommuseum, Frankfurt (2010).

Biermann has received grants from Trinity Wall Street, New York (2017); J. Paul Getty Jr. Charitable Trust, London (2016); King’s College, London (2015); Renmin University of China, Beijing (2015); Embassy of Germany, London (2014); German Foreign Office (2010); Arts Council England, London (2005) and Goethe-Institut, London (2004). He is the only artist in over 30 years to win the Weissblechkalender project by ThyssenKrupp, twice (2007 and 2010) and created a worldwide-unique, exclusive arts calendar printed on tinplate for ThyssenKrupp. His works are included in many private and institutional collections internationally, including the ThyssenKrupp in Dusseldorf and Signy+Olaf Willums Art Foundation in Provence.
