Gwangju (Gyeonggi)

Datz Museum of Art is a private museum founded in October 2010 in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do province, by Datz Press (Gwangjin-gu, Seoul), a publishing company, focusing primarily on introducing articles on visual arts. Datz Museum of Art focuses on curating exhibitions on photography and books, and it operates various education programs to communicate with its audience. Beautiful natural sceneries of the museum help visitors meditate away from the intense city life and appreciate the exhibited artworks more in depth.

Datz Museum presents various artworks, thematically focusing on the order of nature. With its rich expertise on contemporary photography and books, the museum has introduced exhibitions on nature and humanity to the audience since its first opening in 2010. The museum has introduced diverse international photographers and emerging artists both global and domestic, whose mediums overarching painting, installation, performance, and etc. The museum opens to all types of artworks; however, it pays close attention to the artworks that speak about a relationship between ‘nature and human being,’ and ‘collective and individual.’

Located in the beautiful mountain, the museum has its gallery and cafe on the first floor and a VIP lounge and office on the second floor. For education purposes, the museum also runs workshop spaces and a greenhouse in separate building.
